Saint Francis Veterinary Specialists is a specialty veterinary medical care facility founded by Dr. Laura Smallwood. Dr. Smallwood owned and operated a internal medicine practice, serving several hundred veterinarians and treating literally thousands of patients from 1990 to 2007. Seeking to expand into other medical disciplines; she founded SFVS in the Fall of 2007, and serves as its staff Internist and Medical Director.
The new Decatur facility is specifically designed for specialty veterinary medicine services. As SFVS continues to grow, it will be adding still more disciplines of veterinary specialty medicine to the existing menu of surgical, internal medicine and diagnostic imaging services.
