If you would like to discuss a case with any of our doctors, please let us know. We are happy to discuss any case with you prior to referral.
Please transmit all pertinent medical records, laboratory work and radiographs prior to your pet owner’s appointment. We will review all previous diagnostic tests prior to evaluation of your patient. Having this information prior to your patient’s appointment allows us to better understand your patient’s medical history and prevents the need for unnecessary repetition of diagnostic tests.
You will receive a Patient Summary by fax immediately upon discharge of your patient from our facility. Copies of pertinent laboratory work will be included. If there is additional information pertinent to patient care and ongoing management that is not included in the Patient Summary, the attending doctor will contact you by phone.
If there are pending laboratory tests, you will receive these when available by fax along with doctor assessment and recommendations for treatment and follow-up. Whenever possible, pet owners will be directed to return to their primary care veterinarians for follow up monitoring and treatment. In the case of complicated medical conditions requiring ongoing management by our specialists, you will receive regular updates regarding your patient.
Routine healthcare cannot be provided at Saint Francis Veterinary Specialists. Pet owners will be referred back to their primary care veterinarians for immunizations, dental prophylaxis, flea/tick/heartworm/parasite prevention, refill of previously prescribed medications and all routine healthcare needs.
We are proud to offer a combination of medical and veterinary business related continuing education topics to our primary care community throughout the year. To be placed on our CE announcement list, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
